Ray Maracco (left) presents Peter Ligon (Right) with a gift from the AUC to his favorite nursery during the December monthly meeting.
Peter Ligon, Secretary/Treasurer of Ligon & Ligon, Inc. is retiring after 43 years. Peter interned at Ligon & Ligon when he was 18 years old and progressed to full time as a foreman at the age of 22 years old after graduating from Gettysburg College in 1978. He later joined Ligon & Ligon’s Office Management in 1983. Peter has been a member of the AUC (Associated Utility Contractors) for over 30 years and held every office over his tenure. Peter was a past president of the AUC from 2004 to 2006; he won the Ditch Digger Award in 2008 as well as the Founders Award in 2014 with the AUC. He was a large contributor to the Howard County Committee, Baltimore City committee and the CWCC (Clean Water Construction Coalition). Peter fought tirelessly for members and dedicated countless hours to the association and the underground utility construction world. He kept the association updated on all policy changes and any laws that affected or benefitted the members over the years.
As of January 31, 2022, Peter has retired. His drive and dedication to the underground utility world will be irreplaceable and more than likely go unmatched. Peter is an avid gardener and golfer and plans to spend countless hours outside in his gardens, on the golf course, and enjoying his family which is well deserved. We’d all like to wish Peter a happy and healthy retirement. We truly thank you for your dedication to the AUC and underground utility contractors Association of Maryland.
